After you take the Kolbe assessment, your score comes in the form of four numbers and various bars. But there's so much more to it.

In this episode of Powered by Instinct, Stephanie Clergé and our host Eric Hererra go through their reports, discussing tips that are embedded within these results to help others get the most out of your report.

⚡The Kolbe A Index helps you define and embrace your strengths. It gives you a unique perspective on what you can bring to the table and helps you get to know yourself better. ''When I read the Fact Finder, I was like, 'Okay, yeah, that's cool. That's me.' But when I got to my Follow Thru and Quick Start, things started to gel and make sense in terms of things that I didn't know about myself. So the Fact Finder made a lot of sense. But my Follow Thru is honestly something that maybe I thought was a little bit of a weakness previously. So reading the Kolbe A Index was affirming to me, knowing that having the natural strength to adapt was a strength for me.''

⚡Don't fear a bad score. Kolbe has no such thing. Instead, enjoy the 'congratulations' you'll get once you start reading the report. It's on page one with the following text: ‘You got a perfect score in the Kolbe A results.’ ''It's a little bit cheesy, but it's meant to remind us that these are all strengths. It's so easy. There are so many people in the world who are telling us about our saboteurs and derailers and all kinds of weaknesses and language for how bad we are. So Kathy Kolbe wanted to remind all of us that we have this set of strengths that can be our best path to success.''

⚡Dos and Don'ts put a light on what should be your focus area. However, we often waste a lot of time and energy on tasks and activities that we are not good at for a good reason — our approaches differ from what is expected in a given situation. Therefore, taking an assessment such as Kolbe makes it easier for everyone to develop working models resulting in efficiency. ''The dos and don'ts are part of what makes it actionable for people. People get confused with the dos and don'ts. The dos are what you would naturally do if free to be yourself, and the don'ts are what you would not naturally do. So a lot of times, people look at the don'ts list, and they're like, 'Well, wait a second. Do I do these, or do I not do these?'''
